We invite you to be a part of a unique and meaningful project that celebrates the true beauty and spirit of pit bulls. Our upcoming book aims to shift perceptions and challenge the misleading nature of visual identification, highlighting these incredible dogs through stunning photography and heartfelt stories. By participating, you’re not only helping to create a beautiful book but also supporting a larger mission of compassion for pit bulls everywhere.

Originally inspired by the fight to repeal the pit bull ban in Aurora, What a Pittie began as a way to rally the community around these misunderstood dogs. With the ban now lifted, we’re continuing this project to support organizations dedicated to rescuing pit bulls in need and educating the public about bully breeds.

Proceeds from the donations will benefit Pound Pitties Dog Rescue, Hobo Care Rescue, My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue, and Aurora Animal Shelter.

To join, we kindly ask for a $175 donation, which will go directly toward funding these rescue efforts and ongoing educational initiatives. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

We welcome pit bull breed dogs and their mixes to be part of this special project. Participants are required to provide a DNA test for their dogs. The purpose of the DNA test is to demonstrate that visual assessment alone is not a reliable method for determining if a dog is primarily a pit bull. By showcasing this, we aim to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about breed identification. We also ask that you are willing to come to Bina Photography Studio, located in Englewood, Colorado, for a consultation and the photo session. Your involvement will not only capture the beauty of your beloved pet but also contribute to a cause that seeks to protect and celebrate pit bulls everywhere. We look forward to working with you and your amazing dogs!

In exchange for your participation, you will receive a full fine art pet portrait session and a beautiful 14" fine art print of your choice.

Pit bulls are incredible companions known for their loyalty, affection, and gentle nature. These dogs, often misunderstood due to misconceptions about their temperament, are actually among the most loving and family-oriented breeds. It's essential to protect them from breed-specific legislation, which unfairly targets them based on stereotypes rather than individual behavior. Studies consistently show that breed is not a reliable predictor of aggression, and many pit bulls live peacefully alongside children and other pets. They excel in therapy work, agility training, and as service animals, showcasing their intelligence and adaptability. By focusing on responsible ownership and education, we can ensure that all dogs, including pit bulls, are appreciated for the wonderful companions they truly are.

CELEBRATING THE BEAUTY AND DIVERSITY OF PIT BULL BREEDS

Join us in celebrating the incredible diversity and beauty of pit bull breeds and their mixes in our upcoming book, What a Pittie. This project aims to challenge stereotypes and showcase the true essence of these amazing dogs. Sadly, while the city of Aurora has repealed its breed-specific legislation (BSL), many cities in the U.S. and other countries continue to enforce these unfair laws, targeting these dogs.

We are looking for dogs that resemble pit bulls, are purebred bullies, or show a high percentage of pit bull in their DNA despite looking different. This book will highlight their unique looks, goofy personalities, and the playful, lovable nature that makes them so special. Selected participants will be featured in What a Pittie, helping to reshape public perception and celebrate these dogs for who they truly are.

Our goal is to spread awareness and appreciation for pit bull breeds while raising funds to support rescues and other organizations that help animals in need. Together, we can showcase the beauty, diversity, and loving nature of these dogs and ensure they are treated with the respect and fairness they deserve.

Unmasking the Myth: The Pit Bull Identification Project

Visual breed identification is often misleading, leading to harmful misconceptions about pit bulls and their mixes. Our project seeks to highlight these inconsistencies by featuring 20-30 pit bulls and their mixes in a book that reveals the true diversity behind the label "pit bull".

We’re inviting proud pit bull owners to join us in this effort. Participation requires:

Owning a pit bull or pit bull mix.
Providing a DNA test or being willing to get one.
A contribution of $175 will support organizations that fight for the rights of bully breeds and help them thrive in the right environment. Multiple pitties from the same household are welcome for an additional fee: $250 for two or $300 for three.
In return, participants receive a full photography session for their dog and one professionally printed image from the session. Value $750.

This is more than just a photoshoot—it's a chance to show the world the truth about these misunderstood dogs and to advocate for their fair treatment.

All information entered will be used exclusively by Bina Photography for the purposes of providing photographic services. We respect your privacy and will not share your information with any third parties without your explicit consent. Participants must be over 18 years old.
